Ballarat Childbirth Education begun from a strong desire to empower the birthing person with the knowledge and skills to advocate for their body and baby.

Working as a Registered Midwife and Nurse in a fast-paced regional hospital I often see women present to our health service with a lack of knowledge around childbirth and the early postnatal period. I knew I wanted to change this and improve outcomes through education.

Meet Midwife Issy

Hi, I’m Issy, a Registered Midwife, Nurse, Childbirth Educator and qualified Hypnobirthing Australia™ Practitioner.

I have had a passion for childbirth education since I completed my nursing and midwifery studies. I quickly realised that education was a key element to improving outcomes and empowering the birthing person to achieve the birth they desire. I wanted women to know what I knew after studying, and I felt that a real health inequity existed regarding quality childbirth education.

My courses are aimed at preparing you with the knowledge, confidence, and tools you need to approach birth calmly — and even with excitement!

The Positive Birth Program incorporates both childbirth education and hypnobirthing techniques to enable you to let go of any fears surrounding childbirth and go into your birth empowered. The program gives you the knowledge and skills to be able to make informed decisions with your care provider and ride the ups and downs of labour and birth. Labour and birth are unpredictable at times but there are a lot of things you can control, and education is key.

The Ballarat Babies Newborn Masterclass is the perfect preparation for entering the 4th trimester knowledgeable, prepared, and supported. Whilst there is no “how-to-baby book” specifically tailored to your baby, my course will give you the confidence and skills to navigate this next trimester as a team.
